Who is responsible
This website, medtropic.co, is run by MedTropic SARL, a limited liability company registered in Lebanon (company details are on the legal notice). MedTropic SARL decides how and why the personal details described here are used, which makes it the data controller. You can reach us about anything on this page at contact@medtropic.co.
We are a trading company, not a consumer platform. The only personal details we collect through this site are the ones you choose to send us, plus the small amount of technical data that any website needs in order to work and stay secure.
What we collect, and why
When you use the contact form or email us. We receive your name, your email address, the company you work for if you give it, the subject you pick, and whatever you write. We use it to answer you and, if the conversation goes that way, to prepare a quotation or a trade. The legal basis is that you asked us to, and that these are the steps that lead up to a contract. If you write to one of our desk addresses directly, the same applies.
When you visit the site. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs that include your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These exist so the site can be delivered, and so that abuse can be detected and stopped. Our basis for this is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Visitor statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It does not set cookies, it does not follow you across other sites, and the identifier it uses is a hash that is discarded rather than stored as a profile. We see aggregated numbers, not individuals. Our basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
Bot protection. If the contact form shows a Cloudflare Turnstile check, Cloudflare processes technical signals from your browser to decide whether the submission is automated. It does not set tracking cookies for this purpose.
We do not run advertising, we do not sell or rent your details, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you wrote to us.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies of its own, and the analytics we use does not either. Should that change, this page will say so before it happens, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Who handles the data for us
A few service providers process data on our behalf, under contracts that limit what they may do with it:
- Vercel Inc. (United States) hosts the website and provides the visitor statistics. Vercel certifies to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
- Resend delivers contact-form messages to our inbox. Our account is set to process in the European Union (Ireland).
- Google Workspace (Google Ireland Limited for EU users) hosts our mailboxes, where your messages are read and kept.
- Cloudflare Inc. provides the Turnstile bot check when it is enabled on the form.
Some of these providers are outside Lebanon and outside the European Union. Where data leaves the EU, the transfer relies on the providers' standard contractual clauses or their Data Privacy Framework certification.
How long we keep it
Messages and enquiries are kept for as long as the conversation is live and then for as long as our record-keeping duties require, so that we can pick up a trade discussion where it left off. Correspondence that becomes part of a contract is kept for the period Lebanese commercial law requires. Server logs are held for a matter of days. Spam is discarded on receipt.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy in a portable format. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, these rights come from the GDPR and you may also complain to your local data protection authority. In Lebanon, they come from Law No. 81 of 2018 on electronic transactions and personal data. Wherever you are, write to contact@medtropic.co and we will answer within one month.
Children
This site is for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 18.
Other sites
We link to our furniture brand, enchi, and mention fairafric. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you are there.
Changes
When we change this page, the date at the top changes with it. If a change matters to something you have already sent us, we will tell you directly.
